Nevertheless there has been some wailing and gnashing of teeth. Interestingly, while many got tearful for the peacock, few seemed to be weeping for the loss of Universal’s globe. I think the answer is pretty obvious: that we can invest in animals, birds etc. emotions that globes, typefaces and suchlike do not have the power to induce. Anthropomorphic logos are very powerful symbols, because they reflect values we see in ourselves. If you want to drive an emotional connection, go take something from nature.
